Kayce Courson, CAADC, MSW

Therapist

Kennesaw Location

About:

Kayce got her MSW at Kennesaw State University in 2018 and began working in the field of substance use and recovery right away. She got her CAADC while working in Michigan, and has a unique collection of past roles and experiences, including traditional SUD therapy, hospital based intervention, collegiate recovery programs, and research. She has a strong desire to see her clients succeed and pursues the client/therapist relationship as a collaborative effort. She feels passionately that her role is to “stand in the gap” with clients, to assist them in observing patterns and identifying potential for change, and then empowering them to move forward into promising futures of wellness and recovery. Kayce’s lived experience as a person in recovery enhances the value of her clinical expertise, and she always keeps in mind the grace that was once shown to her as a client. “The best part of this whole gig, is watching smiles spread a little wider each week, as clients reclaim their lives from the ashes of their darkest days. I love being present to their realization of how a life in recovery is radically different and better than they ever imagined. What a privilege”.

Kayce enjoys doing home improvement projects, she recently repaired flooring and remodeled 2 bathrooms. She loves documentaries about nature and the environment; she also enjoys spending time in nature. Kayce loves art and music; she is a published poet. She has 5 long haired miniature dachshunds, and prides herself on being an ethical breeder of the highest quality dachshund. Their names are Sir Renley Alexander, Lord Tyrion Fitzpatrick, Lady Charlotte Annaleese, Princess Rhaneyse Ayellette, and Lady Arya Roseline.
