About:

Joshua is a person in long term recovery from substance use disorder. He began his recovery journey in 2015 and has maintained sustained recovery for over 8 years. He attributes his success to the fellowship of 12 step recovery support meetings and the social connections he has gained in the recovery community. Joshua’s personal experience ignited his passion for his purpose in life which is helping support his peers in recovery from substance use disorder. Joshua is a Certified Experiential Specialist, a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, and a Certified Mental Health First Aider. He continues to pursue educational opportunities and trainings that support his purpose as he works toward obtaining a Certified Addiction Counselor Credential.

Joshua has over 7 years of experience working in the recovery field. He served as the Program Director of an inpatient treatment facility for many of those years. Joshua has extensive experience in organizational leadership, group facilitation, individual peer support, program development and program management. Joshua is an inspiring recovery advocate as he has participated in several speaking engagements, panel discussions, presentations, and trainings which help educate the community on substance use disorder and recovery. Joshua joined the Alana Recovery team in 2023 as the Director of Operations.

Joshua enjoys spending time with his family and his beloved pets. He takes pride in consistently going to the gym and loves remaining connected to the recovery community.
