When a client enters our program, they will attend our 2-week PHP day program. PHP provides close and comprehensive support in a flexible environment. Therapy encompasses all the intensity of industry leading inpatient programming, while simultaneously supporting the patient’s ongoing life. Throughout treatment, clinicians prepare each participant for the challenges they will face outside of the facility, including: life in a transitional housing community, building new relationships, forming healthy boundaries, obtaining employment, developing healthy communication, coping skills, and other techniques vital to long-term sobriety. Clients are encouraged to discuss any problems they encounter, while anticipating future barriers to the maintenance of their sobriety and successful daily living.

In addition to treating the primary substance abuse diagnosis, ALANA Center’s PHP offers many focused activities to assist participants with co-occurring disorders, such as mental health disorders, eating disorders, and other process addictions. Each participant works individually with a clinical case manager who designs a personalized treatment plan to identify and address areas where growth is needed.

At ALANA, we understand that each client presents with unique and individual concerns. For this reason, treatment of co-occurring disorders including anxiety, depression, and trauma is also included in the focus of care.

Throughout the day participants engage in a variety of groups, each designed by staff members specializing in distinct, but symbiotic treatment modalities. Weekly groups include: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), psycho-education, yoga, stress management, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and meditation, among others.

Additionally, PHP patients are required to attend pre-selected AA or NA meetings outside of the facility, and to share their experiences and insights within the group environment.

Our close proximity to Sober Men Living and Sober Women Living Recovery Residences allows for the efficient transfer of treatment when an individual requires a higher standard of care. Our integration of IOP and Outpatient care with PHP allows for continuity of care as individuals move through the recovery process.

ALANA Recovery Center acknowledges that for some clients, attendance at a daytime partial program is difficult or even impossible due to work, parental responsibilities, and other circumstances. Accordingly, ALANA offers an evening outpatient program to meet the needs of the community. Our evening program is tailored to meet the specific needs of the clients whose daily schedules are inflexible, while still covering all the topics and issues addressed in the day program. For more information, please read about our Intensive Outpatient Program.

After clients complete PHP, they will move into the second phase of treatment, where they will attend an intensive outpatient program three days a week for three hours.

ALANA Recovery’s IOP is designed to provide clients with the fundamental tools they will need to flourish in their recovery. Groups will focus on teaching relapse prevention strategies and coping skills that recovering people need to cultivate a sober, productive lifestyle. Our therapists assist each client in understanding the physical and psychological factors which contribute to their addiction, and how to implement therapeutic techniques in their everyday lives.

We understand that every client deserves as much support as they need. For this reason, each client is assigned an individual therapist they will meet with on a weekly basis, beginning during their first week in our program. Therapists work collaboratively with clients to develop a personalized treatment plan, which aims to help clients reach their goals in recovery, as well as any personal objectives that are significant to a patient’s development. Participants’ treatment plans will also address: the involvement of family and significant others, planning for leisure activities, as well as contact with referents, employers, or EAPs.

Because a client’s progression into addiction can be precipitated by, or complicated by a mental health disorder, ALANA Recovery employs a dynamic and multifaceted approach for the Dual Diagnosis population. Psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and adjunct services are addressed through referrals made by our clinical staff. Our treatment team will also educate clients on how mental health issues effect addiction and vice versa, so that patients are able to get a comprehensive picture of the road ahead.

The length of stay in ALANA’s IOP is 12 weeks. Completion of treatment plan objectives and acceptance of a continuing care plan are required for successful discharge from the program. Aftercare plans will include references and appointments for continued maintenance of recovery and mental health treatment.

ALANA Recovery’s Outpatient Program is geared to the individual who has already recognized the impact of drugs and or alcohol in their lives, and has taken steps to strengthen and maintain their sobriety. Clients in our Outpatient Program will have access by appointment to hourly-individualized sessions and/or group therapy once weekly. This program is run by our highly trained clinical staff, and, much like our IOP program, utilizes a variety of tools to assist the client through healing and recovery.

At ALANA Recovery, we witness first-hand the devastation that substance abuse can have on the entire family. Addiction is a condition that affects not just the individual, but almost everyone in their life. Therefore, our program offers Family Therapy services to loved ones learning to cope with family or significant others in all stages of recovery.

When appropriate, an individual therapist will contact a client’s family within their first week of admission to introduce themselves and discuss the participant’s individualized treatment plan surrounding family involvement. Family sessions will be held by appointment when deemed necessary by a client’s therapist, or per the client’s request. Since all of Alana’s clients are adults, the decision to pursue family therapy will be encouraged, but ultimately determined by a client’s desire to engage support systems.

ALANA Recovery understands that substance abuse clients commonly suffer from Disordered Eating. Eating Disorders are among the most challenging of the Process Addictions to cope with and recover form. Accordingly, multiple members of ALANA’s treatment team are expertly trained in methods and skills specific to helping clients regulate and gain control over the Disordered Eating aspects of their addiction.

The staff at ALANA believes that trauma informed care is integral to our clients’ recoveries. Trauma often precipitates addictive behaviors, and is frequently overlooked as a contributing factor to substance abuse. ALANA utilizes clinicians specializing in a number of trauma treatment modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and RRT (Rapid Resolution Therapy), to assist clients through this phase of their recovery.
