PHP is our day program which provides the close structure and support in a flexible environment. The program encompasses all the intensity and structure of industry leading inpatient programming, while at the same time including an additional component: the participant’s ongoing life. Throughout the treatment experience clinicians prepare the participant for the challenges faced outside the facility, including: life within transitional housing community, relationship building, healthy boundaries employment, communication, coping skills, and other topics important to each individual participant. The clients are encouraged to discuss problems encountered, and anticipate pending barriers to maintaining sobriety so that they can remain successful in all present and future aspects of daily living.
In addition to treating the primary substance abuse diagnosis, ALANA Center’s PHP offers many focused activities to assist participants with co-occurring disorders, such as Eating Disorders, and other process addictions. Each participant works individually with a clinical case manager to design a personalized treatment plan that identifies and develops areas of needed growth.
At ALANA we understand that each client presents with their own individual concerns. For this reason, treatment of co-occurring disorders including anxiety, depression, trauma is also included in the focus of care.
Throughout the day participants engage in multiple groups, each designed by staff trained in different but symbiotic treatment modalities. These types of groups will include: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), psycho-education, yoga, stress management, acceptance and community therapy (ACT) and meditation, to name a few.
All Partial patients are also required to attend pre-selected outside AA or NA meetings and share their experiences and insights within their groups.
Our location relative to Sober Men Living and Sober Women Living Recovery Residences allows for efficient transfer of treatment when an individual needs a higher standard of care. Our integration of IOP (Intensive Outpatient treatment) and Outpatient care with our partial programs allows for continuity of care as individuals move through the recovery process.
ALANA Recovery Center recognizes that for some who need this level of care, attendance at a daytime partial program is difficult or even impossible to schedule due to work, parental responsibilities, or other life circumstances. To that end, we also offer an evening outpatient program to meet the needs of the community. The evening program is tailored to meet the specific needs of the evening client, and covers all topics and issues addressed in the day program. For more information, please read about our Intensive Outpatient Program.
As stated in the PHP program section, ALANA Recovery Center’s IOP program encompasses all the same components as the Partial Hospitalization Day Program.
ALANA Recovery’s IOP is designed as an Early Recovery program focusing on the development of relapse prevention strategies and coping skills that a person needs to secure a sober, productive lifestyle. Our therapists assist each client with understanding the contributing factors to their current situation and implementing the changes necessary to begin the process of recovery and a successful future.
At ALANA, we understand that every client deserves as much support as they need. For this reason, each client is assigned an individual therapist that they will meet with on a weekly basis, beginning their first week in our program. Therapists work collaboratively with clients do develop a personalized treatment plan that includes goals surrounding recovery as well as any other goals that are important to each client. Participants’ treatment plans will also include: Family and significant other involvement, planning for leisure time activities, contact with referents, employers, or EAPs.
Because a client’s progression into addiction can be precipitated by, strengthened by, or complicated by a mental health disorder, ALANA Recovery employs a dynamic and multifaceted approach for the Dual Diagnosis population. Psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, and adjunct services are addressed through referrals made by ALANA Recovery’s clinical staff. Our treatment team will also assist each client in identifying signs and symptoms of the disorder, understanding how each disorder will impact the other, and acceptance of the dual diagnosis.
Length of stay is 12 weeks. Completion of treatment plan objectives and acceptance of a continuing care plan are required for successful discharge from the program. Aftercare plans include appointments for ongoing monitoring of recovery, co-occurring disorders, healthy boundaries, employment and housing.
ALANA Recovery’s Outpatient Program is geared to the individual who has already recognized the impact of drugs and or alcohol in their lives. Our Outpatient Program is available by appointment for hourly-individualized sessions and/or group therapy once weekly. This program is run by our highly trained clinical staff. The Outpatient program utilizes a variety of tools to assist the client through healing and recovery, similar to our IOP program.
At ALANA Recovery, we know and have witnessed first-hand the devastation that addiction can have on the entire family. Substance Abuse is a condition that not only affects the individual, but almost everyone in that individual’s life. To this end, our program offers Family Therapy services to the loved ones learning to cope with family or significant others in all stages of recovery.
If appropriate family’s will be contacted by the client’s assigned individual therapist within the first week of admission, to be introduced and discuss the participant’s individualized treatment plan surrounding family involvement. Family sessions will be held by appointment as requested or is deemed necessary, as all Alana’s clients are adults, the decision to pursue family therapy will be encouraged but determined by clients desire to engage support systems.
ALANA Recovery understands that substance abuse clients commonly suffer from Disordered Eating. Eating Disorders are among the most challenging of the Process Addictions to cope with and manage for the individual dealing with them. As such, members of ALANA’s treatment team are expertly trained in methods and skills specific to helping design a custom plan for each client to manage the Disordered Eating aspects of their addiction.
ALANA Recovery understands that trauma often times is the underlying issue to addiction. Trauma informed care is vital to our clients’ care. ALANA utilizes clinicians specializing in trauma treatment to assist clients through this phase of their recovery.
